On the authority of Anas (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say:
“Allah the Almighty said:
‘O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great as it.’”
[At-Tirmidhi (also by Ahmad ibn Hanbal). Its chain of authorities is sound.]

Sometimes when I am upset and want to read something nice, I type random good search words on my address bar and end up reading this blog once a while. There is goodness here, because although I’ve read most of the things here, I somehow happened to read it again, and stumbling across this post today made me.. almost weep, made me feel miserable I wasn’t strong enough to change and understand how amazingly merciful, forgiving and providing Allah is. He can change anything in a matter of no time. He loves us when we love Him. To imagine the supreme creator of every thing in the universe love and be merciful to his worthless servants is unimaginable, yet it’s true. Thank you for posting this common, but commonly forgotten hadith.
a reader has righty commented on this blog”there is goodness here”
recent posts on adhan and salah, what we have left is humilty(once again.. a beautiful title subahnAllah)to invoke Him with fear and hope(fear of Allah ..so many simply yet deny)
thoughts on gratitude.and that amazing hadith qudsi.
as a one who reads..the next natural topic could be “how to bridge the distance between knowledge and practise”
i look forward to such a title from you.inshAllah.
just want to pass on a few things, maybe they would be of help.
words of Allah, words of the prophet, words of the companions and words of trhe wise and the learned..in this order…
1a)2:21 21. O mankind! Worship your Lord (Allah), Who created you and those who were before you so that you may become Al-Muttaqun (this forms the foundation..doesnt it?)
1b)76:3. Verily, We showed him the way, whether he be grateful or ungrateful.
2a)prophet said” If one does not ask Allah, He will get angry with him.” [Sahih al-Jami` no.2414] subhanAllah!!
2b)Propeht (pbuh) said, “The servant will not acquire the status of those with taqwa until he abandons what is harmless out of fear of falling into that which is harmful.” [Ibn Majah, Tirmidhi]
3)Hazrat Umar ibn Khattab (R.A) once asked Hazrat Ibn Ka’ab (R.A) the definition of taqwa. In reply Hazrat Ibn Ka’ab asked, “Have you ever had to traverse a thorny path?” Hazrat Umar replied in the affirmative and Hazrat Ka’ab continued, “How do you do so?” Hazrat Umar (R.A) said that
he would carefully walk through after first having collected all loose and flowing clothing in his hands so nothing gets caught in the thorns hence injuring him. Hazrat Ka’ab said, “This is the definition of taqwa, to protect oneself from sin through life’s dangerous journey so that one can successfully complete the journey unscathed by sin.”
(awesome advice isnt it)
4)Yahya ibn Mu`adh, may Allah be pleased with him, said: “I don’t order you to abandon life but to abandon sins. Abandoning life is a virtue and abandoning sins is a duty, so your need for this latter is greater than your need for the former.
wish i could have made my post smaller.
but your blog does inspire a cascade of thoughts.
so blog..so that we learn and that we all attain His pleasure.
a good beginning is half the battle won only….why have you gone silent,,,???
the woods are dark lovely and deep…
but to the last breath as destined there are promises to keep.(.our covenant with Allah azawajal being the foremost)
and inshAllah ..miles to go before we sleep..miles to go before we sleep..( with due respects to the poet..the changes are mine)
The Prophet sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam frequently made the following supplication: Oh Allah, I seek your protection from, alajz which means the inability to do something. And when someone said, I can’t do that, The Prophet sal Allahu alayhi wa sallam would seek protection from such negative speech by adding: and I seek your protection (Oh Allah) from alkasl which is translated as laziness
So why not rise and run and enjoy and take benefit from the beautiful world and the righteous people..out there in the real world that is!
